Information for authors
General
By submitting your article to be published in Tomsk State University Journal of Chemistry (TSUJC) you are confirming that:

1) your paper has never been published elsewhere in any language, and it has not and will not be submitted elsewhere for publication until the decision to publish it or not is made in writing by Tomsk State University Journal of Chemistry (TSUJC);

2) you are the author(s) of the article, and you have not used any parts of other authors’ works (or your own previous published work) without reference to them (or without permission for use of copyrighted materials); and

3) all co-authors have approved the text submitted, and all co-authors have agreed to the order of the listing of authors.

Articles written in Russian may be about 5 pages in length (not including abstract and references); articles in English may be not less 4 pages in length.
Formatting guidelines
Articles are to be submitted in an electronic format. Text should be typed in MS Word (.docx) Times New Roman, 12 pt., single line spacing, all margins 2 cm, paragraph indentation .5 cm (use tab key, not space bar). Page numbering is consecutive, starting from the first page, at the bottom and centered.

The title page (on a separate page from the article) should contain:

1) The title of the article, in Russian and English (maximum 12 English words)
2) The full name of the author(s), in Russian and English: surname, first name, and patronymic or middle name/initial

Please note: The name of the author(s)is to be given on the title page only; it and any personal details should not appear anywhere in the article itself.

3) Academic title, in Russian and English
4) Affiliation (place of work/study to which the article is attributed and position), in Russian and English
5) E-mail address
6) Postal address
7) Telephone (office, and if possible, cell phone number, to facilitate communication)

If the author(s) are outside the Russian Federation and submitting the article in English, it is not necessary to provide the Russian version of the above information.
Abstract and keywords
1) An abstract of the article is required that is a clear summary of the problem and its relevance in the context of previous research, the research question, and the author’s research methods, materials, results, and discussion/ conclusion. This is what will appear in the databases if the article is published.

2) The abstract is to be provided in Russian (if the article is written in Russian) and in English. The Russian and English versions should be identical in content. The English version should be at least 250 English words and a maximum of 400 words.

3) Please check the English versions of chemical and technical terms closely, and please do not use transliterations or mechanical translations of scientific terms (or other words).

4) Please include 5 or 6 keywords in English, and the same words in Russian if the article is in Russian.

Please note that the journal follows the American Chemistry Society Style Guide in matters of style, punctuation, and symbols in English. Articles written in English should follow this guide. English versions of abstracts will be proofread to conform to it. More information about this style is available on request.
Structure
To better present the article, please divide the text into sections with appropriate headings, for example Introduction, Methods, Results, and so on, ending with Conclusion, Acknowledgements, and References. Subheadings may also be used (for example, in the Methods section, to organize different aspects of the work performed: Materials, Procedure, etc.), in which case sections can be numbered 1, 1.1, 1.2, etc.

Please note that grants or other fellowships under which the work was done are to be acknowledged with their full name and the reference number; and individuals or groups whose assistance was indispensible, although they are not authors, are to be acknowledged.
References
I. In-text citations

When citing a reference in the text, use a number, in italics(beginning with 1 for the first reference cited). References are to be numbered consecutively, and if a source is repeated, do not give it a new number; use the original number. Note that the number is inserted before the next punctuation.

Сообщалось о минерализации TZE чистой культурой из окисляющего метан организма (1).
The mineralization of TZE by a pure culture of a methane-oxidizing organism has been reported (1).
Хасанов (2) сообщил о колебаниях в реакции бензальдегида с кислородом.
Jensen (3) сообщил о колебаниях в реакции бензальдегида с кислородом.
Jensen (3) reported oscillation in the reaction of benzaldehyde with oxygen.

For those writing in Russian, please note that, as in the above example, if the name of the reference is in English, it is to be given in English (the journal will transliterate to Russian as needed).

If the source given has two authors, both names are used with “and”:

Амирханова и Хасанов (2) сообщили о колебаниях в реакции бензальдегида с кислородом.
Jensen and Jones (2) сообщили о колебаниях в реакции бензальдегида с кислородом.
Jensen and Jones (2) reported oscillation in the reaction of benzaldehyde with oxygen.

If the reference has more than two names, then use only the name of the first author and “et al.”:

Иванов et al. (2) сообщили…
Johnson et al. (2) сообщили…
Johnson et al. (2) reported…

If the in-text reference is to more than two works, use an en dash, not a hyphen:

(1–4), not (1-4). If it is to two works, use a comma (1, 2).

II. Reference list

List the sources consecutively in a numbered list, 1., 2., 3. and so on, and use the format for journal articles and for books that is shown below, paying attention to punctuation. Note that the surnames of authors come before their first initial (and second, if given) in all cases, and names of multiple authors are separated by a semicolon (;). The capitalization of words in the titles of English-language books, journal, and articles should follow the original.

The reference list will be published in English, with the names of Russian authors, books, journals, and articles transliterated, but the journal will do the transliteration. Therefore, list any Russian-language sources in the original Russian. The titles of books and the titles of journal articles should be followed by an English translation in brackets (see examples below).

1. Ильин А.А.; Гусев Д.Е.; Чернышова Ю.В. Исследование коррозионной стойкости биоматериалов на основе титана и никелида титана [Investigation of the corrosion resistance of biomaterials based on titanium and titanium nickelide]. Технология легких сплавов. 2007, 3, 123–130.

2. Manaranche, C.; Hornberger, H. A proposal for the classification of dental alloys according to their resistance to corrosion. Dental Materials. 2007, 11, 1428–1437.
[example of English-language journal article]

3. Жук, Н.П. Tеории коррозии и защиты металлов [Theories of the Corrosion and Protection of Metals]; Альянс: Москва, 2006; cc. 101–109.
[example of Russian-language book]

4. Jones, A. Nanomaterials in Medicine; Wiley: New York, 2013; pp. 101–109.
[example of English-language book]

If the source is something other than a journal or book (for example, conference materials, online sources, government documents) or if a book has an editor(s), please provide all the information and note the type of source; the journal will format the reference.

Please note that specific page number(s) should be given for the information when referencing a book (not the number of pages in the book unless the entire book is specifically cited); and note that all ranges of page numbers should use the en dash and not a hyphen, 101–109 not 101-104, and the full number of each page (not 101–4).
Tables, graphs, and diagrams
Illustrations are to be submitted in separate documents, using PDF, PNG, JPEG or DOC format and at least 600 dpi. Please do not insert them in the text, instead indicate Fig. 1, Fig. 2 etc. between paragraphs and include the caption (captions should be in full sentences and without abbreviations).

Illustrative material by someone other than the author(s) will not be accepted without written permission of the copyright holder (please see below).
Copyright
When the author agrees to publication of the accepted article, he or she (unconditionally reserving the copyright) grants to the journal the right to the first publication based on the Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to use the paper provided that the author and the original journal publication are referenced.

Please note that on the topic of copyright, it is important to know that the use of copyrighted material by other authors that is more than a brief quotation—for example, data sets, graphics, or lengthy text sections—will require written permission from the copyright holder, which is usually the publisher. Obtaining this permission is the responsibility of the author, and the journal reserves the right to request proof of permission. Copyright permissions should be submitted when the article is submitted.
Submission
You can submit your materials by logging in to the scientific article processing platform at this link.

Each document in the folder should be numbered and include the author’s (or first author’s) name: Ivanov1, Ivanov2, etc. Authors will receive an acknowledgement of receipt, usually within 7 days.

The submission should include, as separate documents:
1) the title page;
2) the abstract in Russian (if the article is in Russian) and in English;
3) the article text, including the reference list;
4) any graphs, tables, diagrams, or other illustrations (as separate documents);
5) a scan of a document signed and dated by every author agreeing to the final submitted version of the article, including the order of authorship

Review process
The Editorial Board reviews all materials received with the aim of their expert evaluation.

All reviewers are qualified specialists in the subject of peer-reviewed materials and have published in the last 3 years on the subject of the peer-reviewed article. Reviews are stored in the editorial office for 5 years.

The Editorial Board sends copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal to the authors of the submitted materials.

The Editorial Board sends copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon a corresponding request.

All articles submitted are subject to single-blind peer review: they are sent with the author’s name to independent anonymous reviewers. Authors are to respond promptly to questions and comments from the peer reviewers, which will be transmitted by the Editor to the corresponding author. The final decision to publish is by the Editorial Board, which will accept only those articles that have received two positive reviews. The Editorial Board will inform authors in writing of their final decision. Authors of articles that are accepted will receive proofs of the exact final version of the article to be published when it is ready, and authors are expected to review the proofs within 3 days.
